چکیده
Dust electrostatic migration is one of the primary causes dust events on surface airless celestial bodies, which can result in multiple phenomena, including lunar horizon glow and pools, also offer crucial insights into evolution materials bodies. To date, characteristics laws are still not well understood. Here, we report pyroxene, olivine, ilmenite particles measured by laser Doppler method compare them with findings anorthite previous experiments to recognize differential different mineral components dust. The results demonstrate that particle sizes most moving pyroxene olivine range 0–10 μ m , their vertical velocities typically less than 2 s −1 consistent studies. cohesive force between probably what difference rates various insulating minerals. Note no were detected due material’s good conductivity. It be speculated concentration fugitive mare affected content, but further research needed determine how low content cause migration.

A laboratory study of the heterogeneous uptake and oxidation of sulfur dioxide on mineral dust particles
[1] The heterogeneous uptake and oxidation of SO2 on particle surfaces representative of mineral dusts found in the atmosphere have been investigated. These particles include metal oxides (e.g., hematite, corundum), calcite, and China loess. FT-IR spectroscopy was used to characterize surface-bound species following exposure to gaseous SO2. It was found that SO2 irreversibly adsorbs as sulfite ...

It is the purpose of this research to study electrostatic charging mechanisms related to electrostatic beneficiation of coal with the goal of improving models of separation and the design of electrostatic separators. Areas addressed in this technical progress report are (a) electrostatic beneficiation of Pittsburgh #8 coal powders as a function of grind size and processing atmosphere; (b) the u...
متن کاملA Preliminary Study on the Effect of Lunar-Dust Movement on the Lunar Magnetic Field
Introduction: It is known that the present Moon has no global magnetic dipole field. Data from former lunar exploration programs show that the lunar magnetic field is very weak, usually just a few nT. Variations in field strength are noted in different lunar areas, e.g.: the average magnetic field in young basins and craters is between 0.5-1.5 nT, with exceptions that antipodal of Nectaris, Ser...

متن کاملIce nucleation of ammonia gas exposed montmorillonite mineral dust particles
The ice nucleation characteristics of montmorillonite mineral dust aerosols with and without exposure to ammonia gas were measured at different atmospheric temperatures and relative humidities with a continuous flow diffusion chamber. The montmorillonite particles were exposed to pure (100%) and diluted ammonia gas (25 ppm) at room temperature in a stainless steel chamber. There was no signific...
